BOOK NOW
Order a mastering session now or feel free to get in touch with the contact form below or by emailing info@4dsounds.com. Clicking “Add To Cart” will popup a form for you to provide links to your mixes/stems and also add any notes on your material. Please describe what formats you require and if you’d prefer a loud or dynamic master.
-
Place the order on the right hand side. When you press “Add To Cart” there will be a chance to enter any notes you may have along with the links to your mixes/stems. Please include a reference stereo mixdown along with your stems (this doesn’t count towards your stem count). Once we have the master ready, we’ll upload the master to you via our WeTransfer. If you need any tweaks, we offer up to two revisions.
Please also state if you’d prefer a more dynamic or loud master and what platforms you intend to release your material. We like to add a little extra colour and punch to our masters. When you need that extra push over the cliff. That said, we will happily keep things more transparent if that’s what is preferred!
-
Stereo mastering is “normal” mastering using a stereo mixdown. You can also choose stem mastering options. For example 2-3 stems could cover an instrumental stem and a vocal stem. Or 7-12 stems could cover Kick, Snare, Toms LR, OH Cymbal Spot Mics LR, Rooms & Verbs LR, Bass, Rhythm Guitar LR, Clean Guitar LR, Lead Guitar LR, Synths LR, Vocals LR, BVs. Please also include a stereo mixdown with your stems for reference (this doesn’t count towards your stem count).
To be clear, your stems must be processed. This is not mixing!
-
We pass your stems through our 32 channel custom CAPI Sumbus. What sets this summing mixer apart from other summing mixers is the fact that each channel is loaded with transformers. Essentially mimicking the backend of an API desk. Paired with our “Silver Bullet” on the mixbus, essentially adds a Neve/API preamp on the mixbus. All the colour and mojo, when it’s needed and called for!
This all helps to add a subtle yet noticeable extra edge to the separation between instruments, an improved stereo image, added weight and more punch to your mix.
-
Please note, the studio is open Mon-Thurs. If you order a 1 working day delivery on a Thursday, it will be delivered to you on Monday.
-
By default, we provide masters suitable for streaming on Spotify, Apple, Tidal etc. These will be sent back to you in 44khz 24bit and will not peak past -1dBTP. If you do not require any other formats then select “No extra formats”. For additional formats such as Youtube, MP3, FLAC, or alternative sample rate/bit depth masters for Tidal etc, please select “Extra formats” and list which you require in the checkout notes.
-
Use the quantity counter for how many songs are required to be mastered. We consider 1 song to be below 8 minutes. Any songs above 8 minutes should be considered as 2 songs please. For example, if you have a 25 minute prog master piece which you consider one song, then please select a quantity of 3. Thanks!

DDP images are used for CD duplication. They contain the audio, metadata and ISRC codes (essentially barcodes for your songs). ISRC codes need to be sourced by the artist or their record label.
Adding to the cart will give you a form for the DDP details & metadata. Only one quantity is needed. Please enter your Artist/Band Name, Album Name, Track Titles & Order, ISRC Codes. We'll send you the DDP along with a DDP player to check everything through. Please ensure all spellings and audio are correct. We're not responsible for any errors once it goes to print!
-
A separate vinyl master which is treated slightly differently to cater for the mechanics of vinyl. We provide you with a WAV for each side of the vinyl along with PQ Sheets which some pressing plants require.
-
Along with the “main” master, we’ll bounce an additional, instrumental master for you. Please ensure to provide a link to the separate instrumental mixes in the notes when placing the order.
Feel free to email directly instead either with the contact form below or by emailing info@4dsounds.com
